A Prayer To Almighty God and A Petition to President Obama and Georgetown President John J. DeGioia Dear Sir: We, the undersigned, express dismay that The White House protocol office and staff members from Georgetown University deliberately conspired to cover up and hide the name of Jesus Christ, by shrouding black cloth over the Christian symbol "IHS" (a monogram that represents Jesus' name), during the April 15th speech by President Obama at Georgetown University in Gaston Hall. Since Georgetown University is a Catholic, Jesuit, and faith-based institution, people expect the name of Jesus Christ to be honored, not hidden as an embarrassment to the President. Regardless if President Obama may be personally offended by the name of Jesus, or if White House communications strategists fear he cannot compete with the "distraction" of standing beneath the written name of Jesus Christ, we still expect Georgetown University has the right to display Jesus' name, and indeed remains bound to the high duty and obligation to worship God through Christ, rather than show deference to a mere man. We pray, therefore, both President Obama and University President DeGioia will both issue public statements of apology, and refrain from dishonoring Jesus' name in the future. This outrageous demand by Obama would seem to belie his claim to be a Christian. Yet, what can one expect from someone who for two decades was content to spend his Sundays under the tutelage of "The Reverend" Jeremiah Wright?
And shame on Georgetown University for their cowardice!

Covering the name of Jesus is not only attacking our religious rights, but our right to free speech also. Our country was founded upon a Biblical and Godly heritage, so to take that away is only undermining what we have already built this country upon just because we are afraid we might offend someone. If I am going to offend someone in the name of Jesus; in this letter, then let it be so. Jesus gave his life for all of us. My job is to stand up for Him, even if I make an enemy.
